Track performance for Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG

With the most powerful two-litre turbo four-cylinder for the street, is the new A45 AMG with its 360 hp a pure driving machine. Both stainless steel coilovers allow in addition to a continuous lowering in the range of 20 to 40 millimetres also a targeted damper settings in rebound and compression. So it is possible for any AMG driver, to increase the driving dynamics of the four-wheel drive A45 AMG and to consider the personal driving demand.

Permanent all-wheel drive, 2.0-litre engine, 360 hp and a torque of 450 Newton meters require top performance from human and material. Top performance is also what the KW coilovers made of stainless steel provide. For those who want to use their A45 AMG as a performance-oriented sports car driver on the track for tourist rides, race taxi or track days with semi-slick tires, will find the ideal high-performance-accessory with the 2-way adjustable KW Clubsport coilovers. With its damper setup developed for track days and the adjustable camber bearings at the front axle, the KW Clubsport coilover kit is not just made for the Nurburgring Nordschleife. “The setting options at our Clubsport suspension kit with its separate adjustment technology are basically similar to our KW competition racing suspensions,” said Johannes Wacker, Product Manager at KW. “The KW Clubsport coilovers additionally allow to adjust the desired camber for the respective track.” The camber plates for the front axle which are part of the delivery content, allow to adjust the camber in a way that the tires always have an optimum contact area when driving in corners.

Through the separate rebound and compression damping of the KW Clubsport 2-way coilover kit it is easy to adjust the A45 AMG perfectly in rebound and compression damping. Ideal for example, to get from home to the Hockenheimring with your own car, then only change to semi slicks in the pit lane and adapt the suspension kit with a few clicks to be prepared for the race track. A total of 16 precise clicks are available to adjust the rebound damping to influent the handling and comfort. With the twelve clicks of compression damping, the AMG driver can take specifically influence to rolling motions of the body, without to change the spring rate which optimally matches the rebound damping. “Our KW Clubsport coilover kit with German TÜV certificate is also approved for use on public roads.”

Sport performance for everyday life: KW coilovers Variant 3+

Just like the KW Clubsport 2-way coilovers, also the KW coilover kit Variant 3+ is made of stainless steel. “In the basic setup for the A45 AMG, we have chosen a more comfort-oriented adjustment for the V3,” said Product Manager Johannes Wacker. “The damper setup and spring rates are completely different than at the Clubsport kit. For the KW coilovers Variant 3+, there are no fast lap times on a racetrack in focus, but an active driving experience on any road.” If for example the ride comfort is too tight after mounting bigger wheels, you can increase the driving comfort of the A45 AMG with the rebound adjustment of the KW coilovers Variant 3+. The adjustable compression damping with its twelve clicks for example also allows to consider the tire characteristics. Just like at the Clubsport 2-way coilover kit, there are no tools needed, as the rebound or compression level can be adjusted manually via the integrated click adjustment.

At both coilovers, the continuous lowering has to be made at the dirt-resistant trapezoid thread directly at the stainless steel strut. The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG can be lowered within the German TÜV approved adjustment range by 20 to 40 millimetres. The KW coilover kit Variant 3+, made in high-quality stainless steel finish can be adjusted in rebound and compression damping separately. The KW Clubsport 2-way coilover kit which is very interesting for track days, will be delivered including top mounts.
