Mercedes’ triumvirate of ‘124’ models has now truly entered the realms of appreciating classics, but these cars are also very useable as daily drivers, meaning they are the perfect recipient for a modern brake upgrade. Some of the larger-engined examples allow the driver to ‘push on’ a little, so if you’re an enthusiast that likes to indulge in such activity – or even if you just want to increase your margin of active safety, Italian brake manufacturer Tarox has the perfect solution in their uprated disc and pad sets for all models. These kits offer a direct replacement to the OEM parts – but with significantly greater performance and much less tendency to fade.

Each disc undergoes a structural stress-relieving heat treatment at the end of each machining cycle which increases durability and massively reduces the risk of warping under repeated heavy braking.

All discs are CNC machine-faced for the perfect braking surface, down to a tolerance of 0.015mm, not only resulting in the perfect performance, but also the perfect finish, to accentuate the overall look of the car.

Four styles are available. The OEM-esque ‘Zero’ with its factory good looks, the diagonally vented ‘G88’, the JDM inspired ‘Sport Japan’ and the classic, spirally grooved ‘F2000’.

The perfect discs need the perfect pads, and here Tarox have ticked all of the boxes, too. Tarox’s ‘Strada’ pads offer the perfect compromise for cars that are driven daily with excellent cold performance, instant bite and great wear rates.

Prices start from just £156.00 for a front pair of any of the disc designs and £150.00 for the rears. Pads start from £34.80. All prices include VAT.
