Posaidon Mercedes-Benz A45
With the A45 AMG that was launched last summer, Mercedes Benz currently has a hot potato on the fire of the sportive compact car category. After all, A45 AMG comes along already in the standard production status with a 360 horse power / 450 Nm-strong 2.0 liter, four-cylinder turbo and four-wheel drive and gave competitors (BMW M135i, Audi S3 or VW Golf R) a good scare in direct comparison.
The experts of POSAIDON – specialists in the performance optimization of Mercedes Benz vehicles – attest to a yet idle potential also in the A45 AMG racer that they are currently fathoming using self-developed software optimization systems. For the M133DE20AL engine of A45 AMG, POSAIDON offers performance optimization in three stages: Performance and torque is elevated to 385 horse power / 485 Nm in the “small” 1st stage, the datasheet of stage 2 unfurls 405 horse power / 490 Nm while the A45 AMG as optimized by POSAIDON unleashes good 445 horse power and 535 Nm in the strongest upgrade stage. The prices for POSAIDON optimization begin from EUR 1,500 (only Vmax deactivation).
As opposed to several competitors, POSAIDON realizes performance and torque boost not through a “tuning box“ but through programming performed directly on the original Electronic Control Unit (ECU). In addition to this, POSAIDON thus achieves the deactivation of the electronic Vmax limitation in such a way that the reinforced A45 AMG is also able to fully convert its power into propulsion: In the strongest upgrade phase, the four-wheel drive (on the condition that it has the adequate tire clearance) chips away at the 300-k.p.h. sonic barrier.
Of course, POSAIDON offers all the performance kits described here for the A45 AMG also for the platform brothers CLA45 AMG and GLA45 AMG.
POSAIDON technicians consider it a duty to lift the warning finger: In favor of optimal stability and durability, they are recommending just the “small” performance boost of 385 horse power and 485 Nm in combination with the deactivation of the Vmax blockade because different drive parts of the A/CLA/GLA45 AMG brothers are not designed for torques beyond 500 Nm. At the moment there is a technical inspection (TÜV) expertise underway for this base performance optimization.
As from the next summer, POSAIDON will be offering a complete exhaust system made of high grade stainless steel as from the turbo charger version for A45 AMG, CLA45 AMG and GLA45 AMG – optionally with or without valve control and including TÜV licensing
Of course POSAIDON’s performance upgrade will be offered again, not only for the AMG top models: Several performance boosts will be offered also for the “casual” M270 4-cylinder turbo models of the A, CLA ad GLA category. More information here: www.posaison.de
