KW coilovers Variant 3+ for Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG

Mercedes Benz AMG vehicles were always different than other automobiles in their power package and the matching suspension setup. This is even shown at the Mercedes-Benz SLK Roadster compared to the SLK 55 AMG. For the demanding AMG driver, KW automotive now has a KW Coilover kit Variant 3+ “inox-line” in program, which increases the driving dynamic of the 310 kW (421 PS) strong Roadster even more. With the specific damper adjustment, the suspension characteristic can easily be adjusted to the personal driving behavior and the used wheel / tire combination. In addition, this KW coilover Variant 3+ allows a continuous lowering within the TÜV-tested adjustment range of 5 – 25 mm at the front axle and 15 – 35 mm at the rear axle.

For drivers, which like to experience their SLK 55 AMG (Type 172) even more direct, the KW Coilover Variant 3+ “inox-line” is the perfect accessory. The suspension kit, which is already in basic setup adjusted harmonically to the 310 kW (421 PS) strong Roadster, convince with its driving active agility. It increases the steering precision and tracking without to impact the rolling comfort negatively. If the SLK 55 AMG will be driven with a different wheel / tire combination as the option which Mercedes-Benz provided, the driving behavior can be adapted optimally with the possibility of the specific damper adjustment, just as at the suspensions of the AMG Black Series models.
New is the fact, that the adjustment wheels are integrated in the damper housing, and no separate tools are necessary.


“With the rebound valves in the piston rod, which are adjustable by 16 exact clicks directly from the engine compartment, it is easy to adjust the handling and comfort to the personal preferences as for example when using bigger tires as the originals”, said KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker about the new coilover kit for the SLK. “At the lower piston rod end of the stainless steel housing, we have integrated our patented compression adjustment to be able to change the compression damping with twelve clicks.” With the adjustable compression damping the AMG driver is able to influent the rolling movements without to change the rebound damping which is set up optimally to the spring rate.

The continuous lowering has to be made at the dirt-resistant trapezoid thread directly at the stainless steel strut. At the front, the SLK 55 AMG Roadster (Type 172) can be lowered within the TÜV approved adjustment range of 5 – 25 mm. At the rear axle the adjustment has to be made directly at the at the rear axle height adjustment within the range of 15 – 35 mm. The independently in compression and rebound adjustable KW coilover kit Variant 3+ in high quality stainless steel is now available.
