This Supreme vehicle also benefits from the Mercedes Benz approved Brabus engine with a powerful supercharged four-cylinder SLK 200 engine and a styling package which increases power output of the engine by about 30 hp / 22kW. Furthermore, Brabus have connected a plug-and-play auxiliary control module to the computer adding a further 26 hp.

This particular styling package consists of a full AMG sport pack – including front and rear bumpers, side skirts, Kahn exhaust, lowered suspension, matt black and carbon finished grille, carbon front splitters, red calipers, matt black side vents, remote control roof, roll bars in brushed aluminum and 7g Tronic 7 speed automatic transmission – exudes an exclusive appearance with powerful sound.

The SLK 200’s flat, elongated silhouette is immediately recognisable with the innovative matt black 20” RS600 Kahn alloy wheels, demonstrating an enhanced level of interaction and style.

Inside this particular model is black and red quilted leather interior. However, we provide our customers with the opportunity to express one’s individuality. And they can have whatever they want. We could, for example, design for you a vehicle with an exterior the colour of your shirt and an interior the same shade of your living room, the choice is yours.

Project Kahn vehicles are for the individual who will not submit to a life of uniformity and who will only accept perfection. Dedicated to the creation of luxury bespoke vehicles, we redesign the ordered monotony of mass produced vehicles and rebuild them into individually tailored creations.

Available in Fire Opal Red or Diamond White semi-matte, the RS features a revised front fascia, aggressive side skirts, and a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. Other goodies include black anodized accents, LED daytime driving lights, H&R lowering springs, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the cabin boasts black nappa leather, a unique wind deflector, and a revised roof module which allows the top to be opened or closed at speeds up to 60 km/h (37 mph).

For added performance, the car has also been equipped with a Piecha power converter and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.

No word on pricing, but the package is available for all SLK (R171) models.

Piecha Design enhances the already very sportive appearance of the aerodynamics package with an additional front spoiler lip (435 euros including VAT), flaps at the back (185 euros) and an improved rear diffuser (485 euros). The new front lip is custom-made and perfectly fitted and glued to the side spoiler. The design emphasises the sportive silhouette and the striking front. Fitting the rear spoiler lip which can be simply glued and adding the rear diffuser is nearly as simple. The latter is placed into the surrounding bead and also glued. There are suitable diffusers for AMG styling exclusively for four-pipe systems or for the serial rear skirts with two or four pipes. The diffuser by Piecha Design fits on both exhaust versions, only the serially fitted rear apron has to be modified for four-pipe systems. Piecha Design additionally offers all rear diffuser models in real carbon as well (835 euros).

Of course, the refiner located in Rottweil, Baden-Württemberg, also offers a selection of light alloy wheels. Such as Sportec duo (1,490 euros), a wheel with an exclusive design and five fine double-spokes which frame the Mercedes bonnet star on the hub. The brilliantly shining sterling silver perfectly matches the highly polished rim well. The circular bolt heads give the wheel a dynamic multi-part look. The model dp2 Phantom (1,690 euros) also comes with double-spokes. The struts are significantly more delicate and the eight spoke pairs are fitted much closer to each other than with the Sportec duo. The finish in high gloss silver or satin black, the highly polished stainless steel rim well and the bolt heads underline the multi-part look. Moreover, Piecha Design offers the dp3 Avalange (1,690 euros) in high gloss silver or satin black. The ten-spoke wheel is also framed by a highly polished stainless steel rim well and bolt heads. All wheels are available in the dimension 8.5×19 for the front- and 9.5×19 inches for the rear axle with tyres sized 225/35 and 255/30 respectively.

The right sound for this look is rendered by the Quadro exhaust systems by Piecha Design. The Quadro Sport New Edition (1,065 Euro) offers an earthy sonorous six-cylinder sound from four voluminous pipes in AMG format for the SLK models 200, 280 and 350. The Quadro Performance (1,165 Euro) offers the same look, but the sound is far more brawny, deep and hollow. This four-pipe system offers V8 sound for V6 engines in the SLK 280 and 350. Due to an existing EEC-approval, the Quadro exhaust system does not have to be registered separately.

The SLK performance is enhances with the Power Converter “Intermedia“ (429 euros). With this component, Piecha Design offsets the gas pedal deceleration. The roadster therefore accelerates immediately without the notorious extra delay. Especially cars with a seven-speed automatic transmission profit from the fact that the gas pedal with the included potentiometer can be adjusted in such a way that it responds individually.

Visually striking and at the same time practical are the LED daytime running lights (from 475 euros). Piecha Design offers these in a set with clear glass fog lights for all SLK front aprons. Thereby, the customer can always select between lights with either a black or a chromed border.

The Comfort Vario roof module (299 Euro) enhances the foldable roof with a so far painfully missed function: You can open and close the roof while driving. Finally you do not have to stop the car in order to react to rain or sunshine. And you no longer need to worry if the red phase at the traffic lights will provide enough time for changing your roof adjustments. And the driver stays dry as he does not have to rush to the next exit when it starts raining. For speeds up to 60 km/h the roof can be opened or closed via switch or key.

In order to perfect the automobile look, Piecha Design offers a wide range of components: This includes aluminium door pins (10 euros) and the stainless steel door sill protectors (357 euros) which bear the refiner´s chromed and illuminated logo. Chromed roll bars (745 euros) made of stainless steel and wind deflectors made of real glass (from 220 euros) upgrade the interior.

For the certain exterior something, there are chromed rails for the boot lid (79 euros) and Aerowings (from 98 euros) in the version highly chrome-polished, black and semi gloss anodised.

For the top-of-the-line SLK55 AMG model, BRABUS offers its 6.1 S displacement engine. It has a rated power output of 445 hp (438 hp SAE net) / 327 kW and produces a peak torque of 635 Nm (468 lb-ft). Power is transferred to the road via a modified seven-speed automatic gearbox and a custom-developed BRABUS limited-slip differential. With a sprint time from 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 305 km/h (191 mph) the BRABUS-tuned roadster sets new standards in its class.

All BRABUS engines are lubricated with ARAL high-performance motor oil and all are backed by the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty of three years or 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles (see BRABUS warranty conditions as of November 2006).

The installation of the BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust system is beneficial not only for tuned engines. Its four chrome-plated tailpipes give the SLK a more exclusive appearance and produce an even more sonorous exhaust note on all SLK engines.

For the updated SLK the BRABUS designers have once again made use of the wind tunnel to develop an aerodynamic-enhancement package in OEM quality that in combination with the chrome-plated BRABUS roadster roll bars lends the two-seater a sporty yet elegant appearance.

The striking BRABUS front spoiler reduces lift on the front axle at high speeds. BRABUS headlamp inserts with daytime running lights further improve driving safety.

BRABUS rocker panels smooth the airstream between front and rear wheels, and give the new-generation SLK a longer, sleeker appearance. Integrated entrance lights illuminate the ground on either side of the SLK and make getting in and out of the car safer in the dark.

The rear of the SLK is upgraded by the BRABUS apron with cutouts for the quad sport exhaust and the understated BRABUS spoiler lip on the trunk lid.

BRABUS light-alloy wheels are available for the Mercedes SLK in one-piece or multi-piece designs with diameters of 17, 18 and 19 inches. The large selection of BRABUS Monoblock rims in four different designs starts with 8.5Jx17 Monoblock A wheels that come with an EG general operating certificate. The largest tire/wheel combination for the SLK features BRABUS Monoblock VI, E or S wheels in size 8.5Jx19 in front and in size 9.5Jx19 on the rear axle. The available BRABUS suspension modifications for the SLK are specifically calibrated to the use with such sporty wide tires. Engine-specific BRABUS sport springs lower the ride height of the roadster by some 30 millimeters. BRABUS sport suspensions combine this lowered center of gravity with a firmer yet comfortable damper setup. To reduce body roll further in fast corners BRABUS offers stronger sway bars.

BRABUS also offers various versions of high-performance brake systems for the new SLK. The largest version features six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 355-mm (14 inches) vented and slotted discs on the front axle. The rear axle is fitted with 300-mm (11.8 inches) discs and four-piston aluminum fixed calipers. Special flex-steel brake lines ensure continuous high brake pressure.

The stylish customization of the SLK cockpit is yet another BRABUS specialty. The list of available components includes highly polished stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo, various versions of the ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel and a speedometer with 330-km/h (206 mph) dial. Especially exclusive is an interior upholstered with soft yet durable Mastik leather and Alcantara. The BRABUS upholsterers don’t limit themselves to working on seats, door panels, dashboard and center console: Upon customer request they’ll meticulously sew miles of thread to cover floor, rear firewall and driveshaft tunnel with waffle-patterned leather.

The SLK 55 AMG is also the only car in its class to feature a V8 engine, while the improved AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission now offers even faster gearchanges.

The appearance of the sporty roadster now reinforces the car’s claim to special status even more emphatically. The redesigned front apron with a more pronounced arrow-shape, the modified Mercedes star, enlarged air dams and a black-painted transverse fin on the lower section ensure a distinctly masculine aura. Large, round foglamps with chrome surrounds are now positioned further outwards, enhancing the impression of width. The hot air from the integral engine oil cooler is vented via side outlets in the front apron. The specific AMG bodystyling also includes AMG side skirts, the muscular AMG rear apron with a black insert and the AMG spoiler lip.

New features also include dark-tinted projection-beam headlamps and larger exterior mirrors for better rearward visibility. LED indicator repeaters in an arrow design ensure more safety. Even more striking than before are the new 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a multi-spoke design. Painted in titanium grey and with a high-sheen star, these provide interesting contrasts when viewed from the side. With a width of 7.5 and 8.5 inches respectively, the AMG light-alloy wheels are fitted with size 225/40 (front) and 245/35 (rear) tyres. New, high-sheen 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a twin-spoke design are also available in the same sizes on request. Outstanding deceleration values are ensured by the AMG high-performance braking system with internally ventilated brake discs all-round. The front brakes have perforated discs of size 345 x 30 mm; 300 x 22 mm discs are fitted at the rear.

Newly developed direct steering with variable servo assistance

The all-new direct steering system with variable servo assistance makes for first-class handling dynamics, and makes the SLK 55 AMG even more agile. A key component of this direct steering is the newly designed steering rack. This allows a ratio spread from 15.8:1 to 11.5:1 – which the driver experiences as more responsiveness at around five degrees or more from the centred position. Variable servo assistance makes the roadster particularly agile and lively on winding roads, as the driver has less to do than before – only 2.16 turns of the wheel are required from lock to lock. This also produces considerable comfort advantages when manoeuvring at slow speeds.

The driver of the SLK 55 AMG also benefits from this outstanding controllability during high-speed manoeuvres such as the VDA lane-change test, as his hands no longer need to be repositioned on the wheel. The AMG Roadster also sets standards when it comes to straight-line stability at high speed – this is where the less direct steering configuration in the centred position has a positive effect. This is supported by the already familiar speed-sensitive servo function: the servo assistance decreases as the speed increases, which improves both handling and driving safety.

AMG eight-cylinder engine for superior performance

The striking bonnet with its characteristic longitudinal fins conceals the 5.5-litre AMG eight-cylinder engine, which has an output of 265 kW/360 hp and develops 510 newton metres of torque – figures which remain unrivalled in this segment. Enormous torque, immediate responsiveness and the typical AMG V8 sound characterise the driving experience, together with outstanding performance: the two-seater accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, reaches the 200 km/h mark in 17.5 seconds and has a top speed (electronically limited) of 250 km/h. Power is transferred by the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC transmission with steering wheel gearshift paddles, which now ensures even greater agility: gearchanges in the “S” (Sport) and “M” (Manual) driving modes are around ten percent faster than before. This is not only thanks to the new components in the seven-speed automatic transmission, but also to the new engine and transmission management, which also ensures that the gearshifts are smoother.

Functional interior with new AMG instrument cluster

In the functional and sporty interior of the SLK 55 AMG, the new AMG ergonomic sports steering wheel with its three-spoke design gives a visual hint of the direct steering feature. The grip area is specially shaped and lined with perforated leather, while the vertical spoke is embellished by a silver-coloured insert. Two aluminium AMG shift paddles allow manual gear selection.

The AMG instrument cluster with a 320 km/h speedometer scale, silver/red needles and AMG lettering also has a new look, and the new graphics ensure that vehicle speed and rpm are even more easily legible. In “M” mode, the AMG main menu is able to display the currently selected gear including an upshift recommendation, as well as the engine oil temperature, the battery voltage or the RACETIMER. The AMG sports seats with their special upholstery layout feature pronounced side bolsters for improved lateral support when cornering at speed; Alcantara inserts in the shoulder areas improve this lateral support even further. Fine nappa leather upholstery is part of the standard appointments of the SLK 55 AMG. It is available in a choice of four attractive colours, with a stylish combination of black/gullwing red as a new entrant to the range.

Performance package for the driver with racing ambitions

The AMG performance package is available for the SLK 55 AMG on request. This package developed by the AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO incorporates even higher-performance components. The result is an ultra-exciting driving experience for sports car enthusiasts who sometimes like to put their AMG model through its paces on the racetrack.
