Exclusive, individual and ecofriendly strong in compliance with EURO VI emission standards: these three attributes best describe the latest BRABUS tuning program for the new Mercedes W 166-series M-Class. From a visual standpoint the SUV receives an upgrade with a sporty yet elegant aerodynamic-enhancement program and custom-tailored BRABUS Monoblock wheels with diameters of up to 22 inches. The program also includes engine tuning for the ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC that is as powerful as it is ecofriendly. Further on offer are stainless-steel sport exhaust systems for all models and striking interior designs including an all-leather interior in any desired color. BRABUS backs all components with the one-of-a-kind BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers/62,000 miles. </p>
<p>To give the new M-Class a more customized and exclusive look BRABUS offers an innovative and striking appearance package. The front bumper of the sport version can receive some added profile with the BRABUS ‘On Road’ front spoiler and attachments for the air inlets in the front fascia.  </p>
<p>To give the new 4&#215;4 seemingly a longer, sleeker stance the BRABUS designers have developed new sill skirts. They combine elegant design with a safety feature: entrance lights integrated into the underside are activated by pulling on a door handle or by pushing the unlock button on the keyless remote. This also activates the BRABUS logo optionally integrated into the sill skirts and the BRABUS lettering in the fender attachments that are a new development as well.  </p>

<p>The rear end of the M-Class is upgraded with the BRABUS ‘On Road’ rear fascia that is available in two versions. Depending on the type of engine the rear fascia comes with a cutout on the left or with a cutout on either side to provide the perfect backdrop for the BRABUS dual or quad sport exhaust system. A BRABUS rear spoiler that attaches to the liftgate will be available in the near future. The entire appearance package is manufactured in OEM quality from high-grade Pur-R-Rim plastics.</p>
<p>The exclusive looks are also characterized by the custom-tailored BRABUS Monoblock wheels with diameters ranging from 18 to 22 inches. The largest version BRABUS offers for the new M-Class features king-size 10Jx22 wheels. The cast wheels are available in three different designs as Monoblock VI, E and Q wheels. As an alternative BRABUS offers the Monoblock G &#8220;Platinum Edition&#8221; forged wheels in the same size. State-of-the-art forging technology makes these wheels with five double spokes the perfect symbiosis of low weight and maximum strength. BRABUS technology partners Continental, Pirelli or YOKOHAMA supply suitable high-performance tires up to size 295/30 ZR 22 front and back for all BRABUS wheels.</p>
<p>The BRABUS suspension components, developed in cooperation with BILSTEIN, are specifically calibrated to this tire/wheel combination. For vehicles with conventional steel suspension BRABUS offers a choice of sport springs for a ride-height lowering by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches) or a sporty yet comfortable sport suspension. For M-Class vehicles with AIRMATIC air suspension the BRABUS suspension engineers have developed a custom control module that lowers the ride height of the SUV by some 30 – 40 millimeters (1.2 – 1.6 inches).</p>

<p>For further optimizing the off roader’s already impressive active safety BRABUS offers a high-performance brake system. The front axle combines six-piston fixed aluminum calipers with vented and cross-drilled discs measuring 405 x 34 millimeters (16 x 1.3 inches). Together with four-piston fixed aluminum calipers and brake discs measuring 380 x 28 mm (15 x 1.1 inches) on the rear axle the brake system provides stopping power normally reserved for purebred sports cars. The BRABUS system also delivers maximum fade-free endurance.</p>
<p>BRABUS offers the world’s most extensive program of engine tuning for Mercedes-Benz automobiles and so it is no wonder that the program was also adapted to the new M-Class. For the V6 common-rail turbodiesel engine of the ML 350 BlueTEC 4MATIC the BRABUS engine specialists have developed the BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit that falls into the same EURO VI emissions class as the production car.</p>

<p>The engineers developed the BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6S module for the direct-injection engine in the BRABUS engine development department using state-of-the-art test bench technology and a cutting-edge emissions lab. The plug-and-play auxiliary control unit is integrated into the CAN bus of the SUV. The BRABUS mapping was calibrated specifically to the ecofriendly BlueTEC concept that uses AdBlue® reactant to purify exhaust gases.</p>
<p>The BRABUS ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit bumps peak torque from standard 620 Nm to 690 Nm (457 to 509 lb-ft), available on a plateau between 1,600 and 2,400 rpm. At the same time maximum power output jumps from 258 hp (254 bhp) / 190 kW to 306 hp (301 bhp) / 225 kW at just 3,600 rpm. </p>
<p>Performance with BRABUS D6S tuning improves enormously: with a sprint time of just 6.0 seconds the SUV takes exactly 1.4 seconds less for the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) than the production car. Top speed increases to 229 km/h (142 mph).</p>
<p>Further BRABUS engine tuning versions for the other engines of the M-Class are in the final stages of development. All BRABUS engines are lubricated exclusively with ARAL high-performance motor oil. Custom-calibrated stainless-steel sport exhaust systems with two or four distinctive BRABUS tailpipes are available for all M-Class engines. </p>
<p>Yet another particular BRABUS specialty are exclusive interior options for the new M-Class: bi-color stainless-steel scuff plates with backlit BRABUS logo as well as matte-anodized aluminum pedals, door-lock pins and foot rest are part of the refinement repertoire as are exclusive BRABUS interiors masterfully crafted from a combination of the finest Mastik leather and Alcantara. In addition, there are exotic-wood and carbon-fiber trim sets in any desired color and with a variety of surfaces from open-pored and matte to high-gloss finishes.</p>

Kicherer is a sought after name in the niche aftermarket of automobiles. Its forte is Mercedes vehicles whose performance and looks it fine tunes, making them stand out in the crowd. It has announced a package to jazz up the iconic Mercedes ML63 AMG sports utility vehicle.</p>
<p><strong>Mercedes ML63 AMG</strong><br />
The Mercedes ML63 AMG is by itself a power performer. It was launched as a special edition vehicle in 2007. It boasted a powerful V8 engine and auto transmission that offered a fast acceleration. While other customizing companies wondered how to improve on this performance, Kicherer decided to give it a try. It came up with an amazing upgrade package called Carbon Series. Carbon series subjects the entire vehicle to carbon treatment for a visual shocker, apart from revving up the performance, of course.</p>
<p><strong>It’s Carbon all the way</strong><br />
To begin with the car is coated with carbon foil. This includes the newly added front spoiler and the rear roof spoiler. The front exhaust grill with the trademark 3 star too has been lavished with carbon coating. The windows are tinted and so are the tail lights giving a smoky look. The headlights and fog lamps have fortunately been spared of this smoky treatment. The wheels are a massive 23 inches, alloyed and coated in matte black. They have a five spoke design to accentuate their look. The thick, wide tires made of low profile performance rubber grip the road firmly. </p>

<p>Complementing them are the bulging wheel arches and side skirts making the car look a tad wider. The contours and edges are given an enhanced coating for that chiseled look. The carbon treatment spills over to the interiors as well. The car sports a combination of carbon leather and Alcantara in the cockpit and upholstery. The sliding sun roof is also tinted. Overall the carbon finish gives the car a macho but mafiosi type demeanor-the kind you don’t want to mess with. The other vehicles on roads would better leave way for this dark hunk on wheels!</p>
<p><strong>Tweaking the engine for more power and speed</strong><br />
The car’s 6.2 liter V8 engine is boosted with Kicherer Power Converter. The Electronic chassis too is re-worked to extract more power from the engine. Kicherer has fitted an exhaust system developed in-house and made of stainless steel. These allow the air cooled engine system to spew more power. Kicherer claims a power output of 540 HP or 397 KW and a torque of 640 Nm. This is an improvement of 30 HP and 10 Nm of power and torque respectively. It remains to be seen if these statistics have been tested and verified. The driver will certainly be happy to have more power from this machine especially in difficult terrains.</p>
<p>Now what does all this have on the speed? The company claims a top speed of 250 km per hour (kmph) or 155 miles per hour (mph). This figure again needs verification. The company hasn’t specified if this is a limited edition package.<br />
Conclusion</p>
<p>Kicherer has fine-tuned Mercedes ML63 AMG to a unique machine. The higher torque (640 Nm) due to more engine power (540 HP) is sure to excite any rally driver. If not that, then its 250 kmph top spe ed can make any speed devil salivate. These along with its carbon treated skin make it a must have machine.</p>

<p>The new BRABUS B63 Biturbo 6.3-liter V8 engine produces 650 hp (641 bhp) / 478 kW and propels the 4&#215;4 to a top speed of 310 km/h (194 mph). In addition to a superior engine the new BRABUS ML 63 sets itself apart from the rest with the sporty yet elegant WIDESTAR package, forged 23-inch wheels and an exclusive interior trimmed out with leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber. The BRABUS ML 63 Biturbo starts at 190,602 Euros MSRP.</p>
<p>The BRABUS engineers spent some two years on the development and testing of the fast-revving engine with twin turbochargers. The newly developed turbocharger system of the eight-cylinder engine represents high-tech par excellence. Custom exhaust manifolds were developed for both cylinder banks. These OEM-quality-cast manifolds feature integrated turbine housings and bypass valves. For maximum response at low engine speeds the chargers are comparatively small. To avoid negative effects on the system from excessive exhaust-gas pressures the manifolds are designed to utilize the exhaust from only three of the four cylinders on each side of the engine V for driving the turbochargers. </p>
<p>Even the choice of turbochargers was unconventional: Normally two right-turning turbochargers are used in twin-turbo V-engines. Because the inlet port of right-turning turbocharger is located on the right side, engineers would have to compromise on the optimal exhaust-gas routing on the right side of the engine. To avoid any compromises the BRABUS developers equip the B63 Biturbo system with left-turning turbocharger on the right side. This turbocharger was custom-developed for this engine and ensures optimal gas flow and perfect exhaust dynamics.</p>

<p>The twin-turbo system further includes a large intercooler, a dual-flow intake manifold with cast-in BRABUS Biturbo logo, and high-performance free-flow metal catalysts for efficient exhaust-gas purification.</p>
<p>Forged BRABUS pistons provide a charger-friendly compression ratio of 9.0:1. The engine is controlled by custom-tailored engine electronics with precision-matched mapping for ignition, injection and the electronic BRABUS boost-pressure control. That guarantees not just optimal power yield but also exemplary low emissions in accordance with the EURO IV norm. Like all BRABUS engines the B63 Biturbo is lubricated exclusively with ARAL high-performance motor oil. </p>
<p>The high-end B63 Biturbo engine costs 69,800 Euros and offers power on a level previously unknown in the SUV world. With a rated power output of 650 hp (641 bhp) / 478 kW at just 6,200 rpm the BRABUS engine surpasses its production counterpart by 140 hp (138 bhp) / 103 kW. Peak torque of the ML 63 Biturbo is 850 Nm (626 lb-ft), up from standard 630 Nm (464 lb-ft). It is available on a wide plateau between 3,000 and 5,500 rpm.</p>
<p>Just as unique in this vehicle category is the performance this engine delivers in concert with a modified seven-speed SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC automatic gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive: The sprint from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) is shortened by 0.8 seconds to 4.2 seconds. Top speed increases from 250 to 310 km/h (155 to 194 mph). </p>
<p>That type of performance potential places especially high demands on aerodynamics, tires, suspension and brakes. The BRABUS WIDESTAR version with its elegantly shaped fender flares on front and rear axle is five centimeters (two inches) wider than the production car.</p>
<p>The front spoiler bumper with its three strikingly styled air inlets, four auxiliary headlights and daytime running lights lends the M-Class more passing clout and minimizes lift on the front axle. The BRABUS WIDESTAR body conversion further includes door trim components and rocker panels that create a perfect transition between front and rear fender flares. The rear apron features an integrated diffuser and cutouts for the chrome-plated tailpipes of the BRABUS stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system. In combination with the rear spoiler it creates an optimal aerodynamic balance.</p>

<p>The wider stance not only benefits the appearance of the M-Class, it also improves handling.  Three-piece BRABUS Monoblock E PLATINUM EDITION wheels are specially designed for the WIDESTAR model. They come in size 11Jx23 and feature forged wells, creating an optimal symbiosis of light-weight design and maximum mechanical strength. The new nine-spoke wheels are fitted with high-performance tires in size 315/25 R 23 front and back. </p>
<p>The BRABUS control module for the standard AIRMATIC air suspension lowers the ride height by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches) which also benefits sporty on-road handling.</p>
<p>To further optimize active safety the BRABUS ML 63 is equipped with a high-performance brake system. 12-piston aluminum fixed calipers grip front discs measuring 380 x 36 mm (15.0 x 1.4 inches). The rear axle features six-piston fixed calipers and 360 x 28 mm (14.2 x 1.1 inches) discs. Together these components provide stopping power normally reserved for purebred sports cars. </p>
<p>The most powerful M-Class ever also features numerous exclusive interior highlights. Stainless-steel scuff plates with illuminated BRABUS logo and an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel are part of the package as is an exclusive BRABUS fully leather interior made from a perfectly finished combination of the finest Mastik and Alcantara leathers. </p>
<p>Sporty BRABUS ‘Checkered Flag’ carbon-fiber components for the interior are another BRABUS innovation. They have a carbon-fiber surface structure made to look like a checkered flag used as the finish flag in motorsports. The front seats can be fitted with custom rear consoles that encompass the headrests. They each house a seven-inch LCD screen with 16:9 aspect ratio and integrated DVD player. These consoles are also available in a version that features a power-folding precious-wood table.</p>

<p>Especially the RS9 light alloy wheels painted in matt black magically attract the attention not only through their merely size of 22 inch: Their outstanding design feature is the five–pointed wheel centre with the double slotted spokes. Also the matt black painted grille insert and the darkly tinted back window panes contribute to the grave and aggressive aura of the vehicle. </p>
<p>The forceful aerodynamic bodyparts such as the Lorinser front bumper with hinted body protection, the side-skirts and the rear bumper with the striking exhaust end tips project lots of self-confidence to the observer. Despite these dominant features the ML Black &#038; White appears disctinctly light-footed by means of the white vehicle painting. The impression does not befool, eventually the Lorinser suspension provides sporty driveability and slight cornering roll. The work of the engineers of the Mercedes tuner can also be felt when stepping the gas pedal: by means of the Lorinser Diesel module the performance of the six cylinder 320 CDI was increased from 165 kW/224 hp and 510 Nm to proud 192 kW/261 hp and 580 Nm. And finally comes the best: The ML Black &#038; White is not only a show vehicle, instead it can be bought regularly from Sportservice Lorinser! </p>

At the same time, the maximum torque of 700 Nm is increased to a terrific 900 Nm. </p>
<p>Just as spectacular is the performance of the so-called Kicherer ML 42 ICE. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds, it is a whole half a second quicker than its series counterpart. The maximum speed has been increased to approximately 280 km/h. </p>
<p>The exceptional performance of the CDI power units tuned by Kicherer are impressive, as are the high degree of elasticity and favourable fuel consumption, which is at a standard level despite the increased power. As with the basic vehicle, Kicherer engines also comply with the Euro 4 exhaust standard and, of course, are just as suitable for any vehicle equipped with diesel particle filters. </p>
<p>But Kicherer has gone even one step further and perfected the details of the ML. Its exterior looks have been adapted to match the increased performance by adding an AMG ML 63 body kit, AMG 20-inch wheels with special varnish, an electronic lowered suspension and a four-pipe sports exhaust. High-performance brakes ensure that fast off-road enthusiasts still have the appropriate deceleration. </p>

As a result of the joint experience and efforts of Kleemann Denmark and Kleemann Dubai/GAE German Automotive Engineering, one of the worlds most beautiful and powerful SUV&#8217;s will be revealed on the Dubai Motor Show from November 13th 2007: The Kleemann ML63K Bi-turbo prototype.<span id="more-124"></span></p>
<p><strong>New challenges, new partnerships</strong></p>
<p>Faced with the challenge of bringing out the full potential from the highly sophisticated V8 engine in the ML 63 AMG, the Kleemann R&#038;D department chose a turbo solution over one of their efficient Kompressor systems. This is also the main reason Kleemann teamed up with their partner in Dubai, GAE German Automotive Engineering, from who they gained valuable and up-to-date turbo knowledge and experience.</p>
<p><strong>Sophisticated technology</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;The advanced triple throttle system on the AMG engine ensures remarkable power and torque on the normally aspirated engine, but its function is too sensitive for the constant boost pressure of the Kompressor. This is why we wanted to try turbocharging the engine instead, so the whole throttle system only recieved boost pressure under max load. This prooved successful and resulted on both enormous power and driveability, made possible through the new technology of stand alone engine management, which we are also currently using for our Kompressor systems&#8221; says Claus Ankjaer, technical director at Kleemann.</p>
<p>&#8220;We reduced the compression ratio from 11,3:1 to 9,7:1 to leave space for more turbo boost pressure and this was achieved by installing thicker and much stronger headgaskets. The 2 ballbearing Garrett turbochargers are placed behind the engine where they are mounted on modified Kleemann tubular headers and the exhaust gasses continue through special Kleemann turbo downpipes and a stainless steel high flow Kleemann exhaust system. For cool and efficient engine conditions, the pressurised intake air flows through 2 flat high capacity air-to-water intercoolers placed on top of the engine&#8221; Horst Busch, director at GAE German Automotive Engineering explains.</p>
<p><strong>Speed and safety go hand in hand</strong></p>
<p>This complete engine modification result in the awesome power output of 800 HP and torque electronically limited to 1000 Nm. The standard ML 63 AMG 7G Speedshift gearbox needed no modifications to handle the power increase and it easily transfers every horsepower through the 4-Matic drivetrain and out to each of the 20&#8243; Kleemann TS-7 wheels. Running on Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires in the size 315/35 R20 and fitted with a Kleemann EBL suspension modification, the big SUV handles like a much smaller and lighter car. The raw performance data for the ML63K Bi-turbo places it at the very front of the competition. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is achieved in only 4 seconds and the SUV continues the brutal acceleration right up to the electronically limited top speed of 300 km/h.</p>

<p>For improved safety, a high performance Kleemann brake system featuring 380 mm. drilled and vented discs with 8 piston fixed aluminium callipers on the front axle and 345 mm. drilled and vented discs with 4 piston fixed aluminium callipers on the rear axle is fitted. These brakes bring the ultrafast 2,5 ton SUV to a fast and controlled standstill from any speed again and again without fading or loss of stopping power, and it&#8217;s a significant improvement from the standard twin piston sliding callipers on the standard ML 63 AMG.</p>
<p>&#8220;The overall goal for the ML63K Bi-turbo is – as it is for all Kleemann cars – to give the driver maximum performance and control on the road. Being a safe, reliable and everyday usable SUV reflects the Comfort Power slogan of Kleemann, and sets the ML63K Bi-turbo apart from many other tuned SUV&#8217;s&#8221; says Lars Meller Jensen, Head of Communications at Kleemann.</p>
<p><strong>A beautiful beast</strong></p>
<p>For stunning elegance, the SUV is fitted with a complete Kleemann bodykit blending seamlessly into the dynamic lines of the ML and for the unique and very important final touch, Kleemann has coloured the SUV in the brand new and unique matte colour called Nordic White. This colour is a Kleemann exclusive and reflects the serene coolness of the Nordic climate.</p>
<p>Inside the car, driver and passengers experience a luxurious custum made alcantara headliner and Nappa leather covered dashboard in the special Rub&#8217;al-Khali Beige colour expressing the calm of the Arabian desert. A handmade 400 km/h Kleemann speedometer matches the huge performance potential of the car.</p>
<p>A limited production run of the ML63K is currently not finalised, but several elements of the car is already available from Kleemann.</p>

<p><strong>Carlsson performance Kit C-Tronic® Diesel POWER</strong><br />
It is easy to be seen that this SUV needs plenty of power. In other words, there is a lot of weight that has to be moved. Hence, drivers of the ML  320 CDI will certainly appreciate the power of 269 bhp/198 kW. According to Carlsson, a maximum torque of 612 Nm is generated at 1800 rpm. </p>
<p>Carlsson attaches great importance to safety and reliability: correction maps ensure that reserves of the engine are only used when the temperature is in the safe operating zone. The straight-forward installation of the supplementary control unit, which is possible through Carlsson´s adapter system, is also interesting for the customer to avoid long waiting times. Thanks to the plug-and-play capability, it can be installed quite quickly and, if required, can also be rebuilt.</p>
<p><strong>Stainless steel silencers with twin oval tailpipes each </strong><br />
The rear view of the CD32 is dominated by the four tailpipes of the Carlsson sports rear silencers, which not only give out an impressive, sonorous, sporty sound, but are also optimised, in comparison with the standard version, in terms of exhaust back pressure and gas conduction, and thus contribute to the achievement of greater torque and improved performance. The design of the tailpipes offers a significant practical advantage: they are double-walled, i.e. thermally insulated and, in addition, optimised in terms of air flow, thus guaranteeing less external dirt. </p>
<p><strong>Electronic suspension lowering C-Tronic® SUSPENSION</strong></p>
<p><strong>Greater ride comfort in all situations</strong><br />
By means of the electronic lowering system C-Tronic® SUSPENSION, the centre of gravity of the vehicle is lowered by up to 40 mm. This results in a sporty look and better handling of the vehicle because of the limitation of roll. A further advantage of the improved aerodynamics, which are achieved by the lowering of the suspension, is the reduction in the front profile of the vehicle. This results in a higher top speed and better fuel consumption, particularly in the case of off-road vehicles. Whilst usual lowering systems for vehicles with electronic suspension confine themselves to lowering the centre of gravity of the vehicle, the innovative technology of the C-Tronic® SUSPENSION allows for automatic intelligent interaction with road conditions. On poor road surfaces and in response to the persistent spring deflection, which they cause, the lowering effect is automatically attenuated in order to ensure the appropriate spring travel required for the most comfortable ride.</p>
<p><strong>Elegance for the adventurous</strong><br />
Even in its unmodified form, the ML 320 CDI is visually impressive with its interplay of strongly contoured panels and taut lines. The Carlsson design of the aerodynamic components lends support to the sovereign character of the new M-Class but at the same time gives it a sportier feel. The front spoiler and the lip on the rear skirt appear with the characteristic Carlsson &#8216;diffuser look&#8217;.  </p>
<p><strong>Wheel 1/11 Evo Brilliant Edition</strong><br />
The design of the Carlsson 1/11 Evo BE is a further development of the tried, tested and popular 1/11 BE wheel. With the new wheel, Carlsson has once again confirmed that the company&#8217;s claim that a wheel should not only have a visual impact but also offer technical benefits, e.g., that it is as light as possible.<br />
For the ML-Class, Carlsson offers its 11-spoke wheel 1/11 Evo BE in the dimensions 11&#215;22“ with Dunlop SP Sport 9000 285/30 R22 tyres.</p>

The interior design also fulfils the expectations aroused by the CD32 when approaching the car. Only the very best materials have been used for the interior appointments of the CD32. A combination of Alcantara and leather make the passenger compartment an inviting and pleasant place to be, even on very long journeys. With the ergonomic Carlsson sports steering wheel in leather / Alcantara or leather / wood, the driver can be sure of always having the car under control in a particularly pleasant way. Pedals made from aluminium add a sporty touch. Illuminated door exit lights show the way into a world of luxury and genuine atmosphere.<br />
Naturally, there are no limits on customer wishes when it comes to individual fittings and appointments for the car.</p>
